Whilst
we enjoyed showing our Cavaliers, we also dreamt of one day
raising our own litter of puppies. In anticipation, we
registered our own prefix in 1997, combining the names of our
three daughters Katherine, Rhianna and Sarah - hence KARHISAR.
In
1998, Melloway Paint Me Red, our darling "Tasha" joined us and
was destined to become our foundation bitch, providing us with
those longed for babies. Although we had some success with
"Tasha" in the show ring, we always believed her true calling
was as a devoted little mum and that proved to be just the case! We especially hoped that
together with her physical virtues, she would pass on her
superb, typical Cavalier temperament.

In
July
2000, "Tasha" delighted us with those longed for
first Karhisar babies - 4 gorgeous girls and a handsome boy!
We retained the
boy and 3 of the girls, successfully showing all
4 for 12 months. Three are now Aust. Champions and have gone on to achievements
we never
dreamt possible, let alone with our first litter.
Even more importantly, their quality is breeding on with Gabriella, Victoriana, Isabella
& Devotion producing Champion and/or multiple In Group/In Show winning
progeny.

"Tasha's"
second litter (5 little
girls) in September 2001 are all happy and healthy and
enjoying life as treasured companions in wonderful family homes.
At
the age of 6, "Tasha" was desexed and
now enjoys her retirement. It is just magical to watch her playing
happily with her children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She is so
fit and healthy and she could easily be mistaken for one of
the youngsters!

"Tasha"
is pictured left as a puppy in 1998. She is in the
arms of Mrs Katie Eldred of "Turnworth"
Cavaliers, who was visiting South Australia at the time.
Katie's
Belinda of Saxham (aged 7) was Bitch CC & Best in
Show at the UK Cavalier Club's very first Championship
Show, on 29th August 1946. The Dog CC was Daywell Roger,
who went on to become the breed's first champion.
I
treasure this photograph and feel very privileged to
have had the pleasure of meeting Katie.

"Tasha"
is pictured right in January 2008, aged 9 1/2
years. I love this little lady to the moon
& back, twice over and hope to have her with me for many years to come. She is the sweetest, most
gentle little soul and adored by all who meet her.
"Granny
Tash", as she is affectionately known, is
especially loved by her children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren, who enjoy chasing a tennis ball
with her and sunning themselves on the lawn.
